The optimized apertures of the SAAF-T-screens allow for better energy efficiency through improved aerodynamics and reduced pressure drop.
The patent-pending enhanced media utilization design eliminates the “nose cavity” typically created by legacy cassettes. Nose cavities “cocoon” up to 30% of the chemical media, keeping it isolated from airflow contact at all times during the life of the cassette. SAAF Cassettes are the only cassettes that utilize 92% of all chemical media in the cassette – outperforming legacy cassettes by 25%.

The Filter Face Sealing Gasket provides sealing downstream of the gas-phase cassettes to prevent by-pass, while the SAAF™ Filter Seal Locking Handle and SAAF™ Sealing & Locking Channel provides a mechanism to force the gas-phase cassette against the filter face sealing gasket and form a positive seal. In addition, the Pre-filter Holding Latch secures the prefilter into the housing frame upstream of the gas-phase cassette.
Built-up Bank Configurations are designed to be stacked vertically into filter banks, up to four housings tall and as many wide as you need, to meet the specific demands of your application.
The SAAFCanister™ Delivery System consists of multiple individual canisters in metal or plastic execution, assembled into a galvanised sheet metal holding frame to fit standard dimension filter sections in air handling units. The SAAFCanister™ system comes factory-ready for installation. No special tools are needed to replace a canister. The individual canister seals and holds in the frame, due to its unique seal and bayonet-style clamping mechanism.
The SAAFCanister™ Delivery System is factory pre-filled with user-specific chemical media. Each canister is vibration filled to ensure that the media is uniformly packed, then bagged and carton packed.
The SAAF DBS can be configured to fit exact application needs. Prefilter options may include multiple passes of filters, ranging from 2” pleats to 30” pocket filters. The SAAF DBS can hold one to four 12” beds of gas-phase media to allow flexibility in media choices and the ability to handle gaseous contaminant loads. Final Filter options include multiple passes to allow for increased stages of filtration.
The SAAF SAH can be configured to fit exact application needs. Prefilter options may include multiple passes of filters, ranging from 2″ pleats to 30″ pocket filters. The SAAF SAH can hold 1 to 4 passes of gas-phase cassettes, to allow flexibility in media choices and the ability to handle gaseous contaminant loads. Final Filter options include multiple passes to allow for increased stages of filtration.
AAF Flanders’ patent-pending filter sealing system prevents the bypass of unfiltered air. Cassettes and filters are locked in place on the SAAF Track by a combination of cassette notches and cassette locator bars. Designed to maintain optimal positioning of the cassettes, the locator bar compresses the cassette into the sealing gasket. This unique system ensures exceptional filter efficiency.

These SAAF systems contain a variable speed fan (electronically commutated) to provide energy efficiency and adjustable air flow. The fan section uses a sliding fan tray design to allow easy access for required wiring and installation. The control panel uses a hinged panel design for easy access to the on/off disconnect, variable speed control, and pressure gauges.
The effectiveness of any gas-phase filter corresponds to the density (weight per square foot) of activated carbon contained in the product. AmAir/C, AmAir/C+SAAFOxi, and AmAir/SAAFOxi filters are more effective than other odor control filters because they contain more chemical media, using AAF Flanders’ SAAFWeb™ technology.
The AmAir/SAAFOxi and AmAir/C+SAAFOxi filters contain AAF’s SAAFOxidant™, which is an exclusive formulation of activated alumina impregnated with potassium permanganate, for the most effective gaseous-contaminant chemisorption available.
VariCel RF/C and VariCel RF/C+SAAFOxi extended-surface filters provide high-efficiency odor removal and particulate collection for a variety of applications. Designed with SAAFWeb™ filter technology, VariCel RF/C+SAAFOxi incoporates a 50/50 blend of 60% activated carbon and AAF Flanders’ proprietary activated alumina impregnated with potassium permanganate (KMnO4). These filters provide high-efficiency removal of multiple contaminants, including diesel engine fumes, for a variety of applications. The media is pleated and housed in a rigid metal frame. The frame is available in either the standard box style, no-header version, or with a single 13/16″ thick header.
